i've played WoW for like 3 days (before i realized it was he most dumbfounded and annoying game i've ever played and i would not go back to it even if i was offered 1000k) and you get a shit load of skills on your bar. it's useless and completely retarded. as some-1 else in this thread said, if you want WoW, go play WoW. if you want GW, then play GW. mixing the 2 would NOT created the "ultimate game". the moment that GW is mixed with up-to-date WoW features is the day GW loses 50% (if not higher) of it's player base. that's just fact and just how it is.

But I do want contact with other players, that's why I am in a guild, use Ventrilo, PvE and PvP, the whole bit. If I wanted to play a video game alone, I'd play Playstation. You probably wouldn't walk up to me in real life and challenge me to a duel, that would be stupid. If you did, I guess I could be the bigger man and just ignore you. I should just ignore you on the boards, cause you're just here for my amusement anyway. GW just a game, so I'll get over it.

BTW, I solved the problem for all of us already, if people want single player duels, make a single player challenge arena, or put a duel tab on the party request window.

That way the rest of us will only have to put up with personal duels when we are looking for one.

I just don't see how this is worth the time to code into Guild Wars 2. For that matter, I see no constructive use for it. The entire purpose would be to prove that you can beat someone else. We honestly need more of that by the truckload. Haul it in. No thanks.

People that enjoy doing them can do it, people that dont can opt out. Most people in WoW 1v1 for fun, not for e peen, like when I went around on my lvl 10 paladin challenging lvl 70 players for the luls.

WoW has a fantastic player interaction, and the gameplay design actually makes it fun to play with and challenge others. In GW however, playing with others is usually a truck load of bull poo. Each game has it plus points, I fail to see how implementing 1v1 duels into GW2 could harm the game in anyway at all. If you dont like it, you dont have to do it.

isnt RA rock paper scissor? and thats still a popular format.
there should be a 1vs1 random arena just to mess around like u do in RA>
maybe something like warrior duels,polymock etc....
why not? if u dont like it dont enter and keep playin pve or team pvp.
and its nothing to do with wow....guildwars allready has the scrimmage option....but its cumbersome and a pain in the ass.

and btw there are a few guilds that specialize in scrimmages.....and its not exactly rock paper scissor.....u gotta bring a versatile build if u want to win more games than u lose (it should be about ratio- wc3 ladder style)

in my previous alliance they organized a 1vs1 torunament and it was great fun.

Not really. A bad player can be given a good bar to run as a monk and still lose every game. If there was some amount of variablity and skill involved that occasionally allowed rock to beat paper, then that would be a good metaphor. Since there isn't....

Well, I don't really see how this would fit into the GWs 8-skills-skibbar idea. I would /sign if:
- It was only possible in some parts (not everywhere).
- It was possible to disable it. In some other game I played (No, not WoW) you would get invites to 1vs1 matches every few seconds in towns. It got very annoying very fast.
- Had no effect on titles at all.

I think we all forgot GW2's already announced world PVP feature that anet have said will be in the game. It will be able to be toggled on and off if you choose. If you turn it on you will be able to attack whoever you like in PVE, and likewise be attacked yourself, but if you turn it off, you cant attack others or be attacked.

That has already been confirmed and sounds like a very nice feature.

Dont forget that GW2 is going to be a completely different PVE game to GW1 with seperate PVP skills for balance.
